Here we go!
We spend this week working in the areas Santa
Inez and Santa Tereza. These are the richest areas of our area and very hard to
knock doors, but we´ve had some success. We found an 83 year old, eccentric,
espriritist, catholic loving-hating (not sure on this point yet), Mason, Jesus
loving, Book of mormon loving man named Fransico de Assis. He loves the book of
mormon and he knows that if he asked a pastor about it they would deny it, but
he said This book is about Christ and is true. He is very eccentric and it
takes alot of patience to teach him, but its always an adventure.
Not very much exciting happened this week because we started brand new without any investigators, most of the week was knocking doors and looking for people to teach, but we had success, people just don´t come to church. oh yeah just remembered, We taught two girls who both speak english and are working to interpret. But we taught in portugues and didn’t even talk much in english, they are embarrassed to speak in english. But we did talk with an english proffessor (the daughter of Fransico) and found a guy on the street who speaks english too. There was a lot of english this week.
Things are going well, finding people to teach is always an adventure, but things are happening. I´m getting a little bored of beans and rice, but its good.
The culture here is very catholic, but nobody is practicing. Easter should be interesting, but I’m more excited for conference! Time is a little short today so not much more to say.
Love you all
