Lunches

April 15, 2013

E aí familia.  And that family?

This week was pretty normal, we´ve spent the whole week in the bairro neighborhood Santa Inez (which is more or less rich) knocking doors and talking to people through the interfone.  But this week many doors were open to us, we taught 35 lessons this week, which is the most I’ve taught so far. We´ve also found some pretty good people. We´re teaching this 16 year old rapaz boy who prayed for guidance and then we showed up like a minute after, he was kinda freaked out.
We´re also kinda teaching a cousin of a member who is our good friend. he always says, hey my brothers and likes to chat with us, we just teach a little at a time. We taught a man who sounded like James Earl Jones. I also made a street contact with two young guys smoking weed and drinking beer, one was just super out there and the other was actually interested, he said he´ll come to church next sunday. so we´ll see. It rained really hard and we talked with a super catholic old lady, super old catholic lady. and we also taught a baptist who when we invited her to be baptised on 21 of april said. "April, like april now? que bacana. (sweet)" But she didn´t come to church so she´ll be baptised on the 28 instead. She is super elect.

Funny story. So our lunches have been going crazy recently. Wednesday we had lunch in Francine´s house (50- minutes from our house by foot) we got there and she had no clue, but she said that this morning another sister was preparing lunch for us, so we went there (20 minutes by car) and ate lunch, but during lunch another sister called us and said the lunch was marked at her house, (she was angry because this was the third time it has happened to her) then the lady who organizes lunch calls us and says that the angry sister is really angry and that we have to go there now. All in all we had an adventure, it was super funny for me, but super stressful for Elder Barr, because he has the phone and talks on the phone. I got to hear about hour the first sister loves the missionaries and all the dreams and visions she is having and all the cool stuff she´s reading in the BoM and the Lorenzo Snow Book (she was baptised recently).

But lunches are going ok now, so no worries.

Thats my story this week. Love you all
Elder Applegate
